National Parks in Cape Verde

In Cape Verde, there are seven protected areas covering approximately 120 km², which is equivalent to 2.9% of the country’s total area of 4,072 km². However, in terms of marine area, only 5 km² out of the 801,065 km² surrounding the islands are protected. In total, three national parks and four Ramsar sites have been designated at the international level for the protection of biodiversity and ecosystems, as well as some national parks in Cape Verde.
